Advanced Placement (AP) Courses
For Grades 11 and 12, UC is prepared to offer a series of lessons for University Preparation, University/College Preparation to meet our students’ needs. The graduation requirements emphasize a challenging, high-quality curriculum and the achievement by students of measurable results. UC is proud to additionally provide AP courses to allow for greater freedom of choice for students. UC’s AP courses will allow students to study all three Grade 12 math and all three Grade 12 science subjects if they wish. An additional benefit is there will be no compulsions to do an extended essay, additional “CAS” or to study certain subjects (e.g. Gr 12 French). The UC AP programmes are recognized internationally especially for those interested in studying in the US.
Why AP?
Setting up Students for Success
The UC Secondary school programme experience also includes a guidance and career education programme designed to encourage and help students to learn about career opportunities and to make informed decisions about the options they will encounter in the course of secondary school and those they will face as they prepare to leave school. The central features of this programme are the development of an annual education plan for every student and the introduction of a teacher-advisor (TAG) programme. Both features are designed to help students set appropriate goals and select courses that will help them achieve these.
